Fasching in Velburg, Germany
It is Fasching season in Germany! It is also called as Karneval or simply carnival in English. I have been to many Faschingszug or carnival parade in Bavaria, one of the 16 states in Germany. I was trying to browse some of the photos I took during the carnival in Velburg, a town in the district of Neumarkt in the Upper Palatinate (Oberpfalzs) in Bavaria.
Last carnival season 2009, we watched the parade in Velburg. The temperature was so cold but due to the excitement of watching this event for the first time in this place, I just ignored the cold weather. I had fun watching the different groups with their presentations and colorful costumes. Some were dancing, singing, playing music, shouting, laughing and simply had fun during that event.
Don’t miss to watch the carnival parade if you happen to be in Germany during this season. I know for sure, you will have a lot of fun watching one a unique culture and tradition in Germany.
