Planning to Visit Hongkong in the Future
Traveling is one of my passions. I have been to many cities and countries in Europe but not much in Asia. I had a talk last time with a friend and we were mentioning about traveling in some countries there. Among the few ones we are planning to visit are Hongkong, Thailand, Vietnam, Taiwan, Cambodia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia and Indonesia.
First on my list is Hongkong. I have a friend and former classmate there who is inviting me to visit her. This is the reason why I start searching for some things to do and see in this country. I read a lot of information about Hongkong in wikipedia. It is very interesting to know many things about this country especially its history and its beautiful sights. Thanks to wikipedia for providing free information about many things like Hongkong.
While browsing online for accommodation, I landed at Hong Kong Listed. This site is quite informative especially if you want to go shopping in Hongkong. I was impressed by their classified ads because I found many cheap electronics and gadgets like cameras and smartphones. These are some of the gadgets that I need when I travel. In fact, I am planning to buy a new smartphone and this site might be a good place to shop.
Hongkong by night. Taken by my friend Love during her visit in Hongkong. Thanks my friend for this image.
After thorough research last weekend about the things to do and see in this area, I finally compiled an itinerary if I will visit this former British Colony. Thanks to its official tourism site, discover Hongkong where I also found many travel guides and tips.
I guess I need a week to stay there to experience many things. First on my list is to visit and have a walk on its famous sights including the Avenue of Stars, the Clock Tower, Ladies Market, the Peak, The Big Buddha and Po Lin Monastery, Temple Street Night Market, Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade, Ocean Park Hong Kong, Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre and Golden Bauhinia Square. Anything else you want to suggest?
One thing that I usually do when I travel is to taste the local food and delicacies of a certain place. For sure, I would love to experience it in Hongkong as well. I don’t mind going to a restaurant or experience these street-style eating which I heard is an excellent way to experience local food. Besides it is also cheaper.
Shopping is also on my list. I believed travel and shopping always go together. I always love to shop for travel souvenirs and buying some will surely make me happy and contented when I return home.
That would be great if I can also experience Hongkong’s famous events and festival like the Western and Chinese festivals. Hongkong, I will surely visit you in the future!
