How Did I Spent My Last Hours in 2013?
2014 is finally here! I hope you are having a great start. I believed I am and I am thankful about it. There are so many things to be thankful in 2013. There are actually a thousands and maybe millions of them that we need to be thankful of. Can you imagine life without air to breath and we breath every second and every minute? How many seconds do we have in 2013? Alone this phenomenon is a blessing to be thankful of… the gift of life that we are able to face a new life in 2014.
I believed I will have a fruitful New Year 2014 because I had a lot of fruits on our table. wink!
How did I actually spent the last day or hours in 2013?
I am grateful to spent the last hours peacefully. I was planning to spend it on a trip but since I was already on many travels last December 2013, I decided to stay at home. I cooked and prepared for our dinner. I decided not to prepare a lot of foods because I am afraid that many might end in the trash can. I cooked a Filipino noodle called “pancit”. Since I a already embraced German culture including its food, I also prepared a Schweinebraten (baked pork) and coupled it with Knödel (potato dumplings). We also had a ham, vegetable salad, marble cake and some Christmas cookies. We also enjoyed our glasses of plumb wine. It really tasted good. After taking our dinner, I already wash all the dishes and clean everything that needs to be cleaned.
Sumptuous foods on our table. This was our last dinner for 2013.
While waiting for midnight, I decided to wrote some greetings for 2014 in some of my blogs and to my friends and family in facebook. Some hours before the 2014, I also watched some TV shows. I also did some home organizing especially in my working room/computer room.
Watching Fireworks in Berlin during New Year 2014. This is the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin.
I actually received some invitations to spend the New Year in some friends’ house and at the Irish bar nearby but DH and I decided to stay at home and spend it peacefully.
While watching the New Year countdown in Berlin which was held in front of the Brandenburg Gate, DH told me that there were around seven hundred thousands of people who spent their new year in Berlin that evening. Thousands were indeed partying, drinking liquors, listening to the live bands and concerts and simply enjoy the spirit of New Year’s celebration.
The fireworks in Berlin was amazing. It lasted for some minutes. I heard from the moderators of the show that they hired the most safest pyrotechnic company in Germany. While watching the show, I also had a toast for a glass of sekt or sparkling wine with my other half, welcoming 2014 gladly.
I would say, inspite staying at home during New Year’s eve, I still am happy and had a relaxing new year celebration. I am hoping and praying that this year will be a more fruitful and prosperous one to us all! Thanks God for another year in our lives! Thank you Lord for the great year of 2013.
Cheers for 2014 and God be with us always!
