Getting Ready to Be Backed in the Corporate World
How’s the first days of February going on? I hope everything is going great for all of you. So far, I am doing good. I was just busy with so many things the past days. I am glad that there are so many things that are keeping me busy from day to day. I can’t imagine other people who are complaining that they get bored when they are at home. I am a homebody most of the time (when I don’t travel) but I am happy that I always see and do things that are keeping me busy. I am even thinking, what if I go back to the corporate world again or will be having a full time job? I can no longer do all the chores at home and online that are keeping me busy all the time. Traveling many times in a year is also impossible to do. I will see!
Getting Ready to be backed in the Corporate World
Last Wednesday, I went to the Employment Office near our town. I was thinking the past months that I need to decide now since it is not too late for me to do the things that I wanted to do. Or maybe to be backed again to the work place or maybe in the corporate world like what I was doing before being a banker and accountant for almost 9 years in one of the top tier financial institution back in my home country. Can I do it maybe in Germany?
Conversation with the Employment Officer
We arrived around 10:45 at the Employment Office. It is around 35-40 minutes drive from where I live. When I went to the reception, the lady asked me what I need. I told her, I would love to find a job or a training that fits my qualification. If not, I will probably do a training or attend a school for Nursing Aid.
She gave me all the papers to be filled-up. When I was done filling it up, it did not took a lot of time to wait for the next available Employment Officer. The lady asked me what I want. I was telling her that I want to study or take a training as a Nursing Aid. When she saw my resume and school certificates that I have a Bachelors Degree in Commerce major in Accounting and had a experience working at the bank before, she advised that I need my papers and documents to be evaluated by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Germany. She gave me the information and the website where I can ask for more help.
There was already and amendment called the Recognition Act which is stated below;
“The Recognition Act makes the recognition of foreign vocational qualifications in Germany more consistent, more efficient and more transparent. From 1st April 2012, anyone who has a recognised national qualification acquired abroad can have it examined to determine to what extent his qualification is equivalent to a comparable German qualification.” (http://www.ihk-fosa.de/en/fuer-antragsteller/)
Preparing for my Documents
I am thankful that I am finally ready with all my documents which are needed for the evaluation of my qualification. My school transcript, diploma, resume/ curriculum vitae (CV), previous work certificates, training certificates and other documents are finally ready. Tomorrow, I will have an appointment with the Chamber of Commerce in Regensburg and I am hoping that this times will be better for me. I waited too long since this law called the Recognition Act was finally approved. Now that it is here, I have to move before it is too late.
I am quite optimistic and hoping for a better future in Germany. If not I might be planning to go away again. Crossing my fingers..so help me God! Good luck to me and my career.
