Important Things to Remember Before Booking your Holiday
Planning to go for a vacation ? Some might still have no idea or have only little knowledge about the things before booking your holiday. This is especially true if it is your first time to travel. There are so many things to consider before you go on vacation. The most important things to do before booking your trip are the following:
Check your travel documents
This is one of the most important thing to do when you want to go for a vacation. Is your passport expiring soon? You have to check the validity of your passport if you have one. Some countries requires passport that has a validity of 6 months, other countries for 3 months and so on and so forth.
The worst thing is, if you don’t have a passport yet and your travel is about to come. Processing a passport takes sometimes. It depends on the country you live. Crossing another country always need a valid passport. I remember my sister who want to book a plane ticket to the Philippines. She just got her US citizenship but haven’t applied a passport yet. Good to know that when she wanted to book her plane ticket, the travel agency want to have the details of her passport.
Check if you need a Visa to the country you are visiting
Planning your holiday ahead of time is very important. One reason is to check whether you need a visa to the country you are visiting. If you are a holder of this so-called “first class passports” or you are a “first class citizen”, you probably don’t have a problem in traveling to a certain country. For example, if you are a European citizen, visiting any countries in Europe is not a problem anymore because you don’t need a visa to go in any of these countries in Europe. Even if you are a European passport holder, if you visit some countries in Asia like Vietnam or Cambodia, you are required to apply for a visa in these countries.
I remember a friend who has a Philippine passport and currently living in Korea, they are planning to visit Europe this month. She almost had a big problem with her visa because she needs to apply to the country where her passport is issued. She was also required to have authenticated documents like a marriage contract, etcetera. Good to know that her friend told her that she can also authenticate her documents in a lawyer in Korea. Glad that after finding a way to apply for a visa from Korea to Europe, she finally got her visa and she is ready to hit Europe this month.
I will be sharing more travel tips in my future post here. Having been to over 30 countries, I am quite eager to share some travel tips to all of you who love to travel.
Cheers and happy trip!
