It is Fasching or Carnival season again in Germany! There are so many places to experience these festivities going around in the the country. If you want to experience the most famous and biggest ones, visiting the carnivals in Cologne, Mainz and Düsseldorf would be the perfect ones for you.
Let me go back to Bavaria and in particular tackle about the famous Chinese Fasching celebrated every year in Dietfurt, a town in the district of Neumarkt in Bavaria, Germany.
a very interesting group during the Fasching or carnival parade in Dietfurt.
This traditional Chinese Fasching is very well-known in the area. It is not only visited by the locals but also by by international visitors especially Chinese and other nationalities. This year’s celebration will for sure be a grandiose one because it is the 60th anniversary of the unusual event which will be held on Feb. 27, the “nonsense Thursday.”
The Dietfurt festivities begin at around two in the morning or I would say exactly at 01:61 a.m. This day, the locals will already make an alarm to say during their day of silliness. They will already start to prepare for the day’s festivities.
If I am not mistaken, they featured here the famous Ferrero brand of chocolate.
At 12:61 P.M., the party will already start in front of the “Rathaus” or Town Hall. There will also be live band, music to be played and other activities during this festival.
At 13:61 or 2:01 in the afternoon the Chinese Fasching parade is going to start moving from Industriestrasse through town towards the town center, where the annual proclamation of the emperor is held. There will be around 50 floats and hundreds of participants who will join the parade wearing various colorful carnival costumes and party.
A group wearing Venetian costumes. Indeed very interesting!
For sure you will have a lot of fun when visiting one of the Fasching, also known as Karneval or carnival in Germany. Don’t forget in Dietfurt on February 27, 2014.
