Money-Saving Tips When Shopping for Groceries
How’s your day folks? I hope all went well. I quite have a manic Saturday today. There are a lot of things to do at home especially on spring cleaning. During my days-off, I am already starting doing it. The weather today in our place was good. This is the sign that spring season is finally here. It is the perfect time to go outside, maybe go for a walk or sit down on the patio, sip some fresh air while drinking a hot tea or coffee. Sad to say, I need to do some home chores including laundry, cleaning and grocery shopping.
Talking about grocery shopping, I always try my best to save everything when I buy grocery items. Here are some tips I share with you how I save some bucks when I go grocery shopping. Check these out!
Watch Out for Weekly Flyers
This is one thing I love in our place. Every now and then, the mailbox is filled with flyers or brochures where you can find various items on sale every week. Usually every Saturday, we receive flyers from grocery stores or supermarkets featuring their products or goods that will be on sale the next days or weeks. Indeed, buying items that are on sale will help us save some bucks when buying grocery items.
Cut-Out Coupons
I believed this is not new to you anymore. In the United States for example, I have some friends who are cutting discount coupons to save their grocery shopping. Sometimes, they even get the items for free because of the coupons they use especially when the items are currently on sale on sale. Discounted items plus discounts you get from coupons will surely save you money.
Clearance Sale
This is one thing I love when grocery shopping. Clearance sale are not only offered for clothing or any accessories but also on grocery items. Let me give you a concrete example. When a grocery store are selling breads or pastries that day, an hour or minutes before they close, they are already selling these items on a very cheap price. Sometimes, it is being sold up to 50% to 75% cheaper. Isn’t it a big discount and the savings you get will be put to your piggy bank!
Soon to Expire Items
I am also watching on these items that are put on sale because they are expiring soon. For example, yogurts will expire in 3 days and you need or eat it twice or thrice a day, then you can buy such items depending on your consumption. It is not only with yogurt but all grocery items that you need daily. For sure, you can save some pocket money for your next year’s vacation if you do it the whole year round. I am watching some items when I go grocery shopping.
Make A List
Sometimes, we grab a lot of things in the grocery stores even though they are not really included in the budget and we don’t need it at the moment or don’t need it at all. For example, if you see some garden accessories and it look so attractive that you easily put it in your shopping cart without realizing that you don’t need it at the moment. That is why making a list of your “priority to buy items” are very important to stick to your budget.
