Why I am Ready for Winter?
I am stranded again browsing some sites and window shopping online. I am planning to buy another travel gadget as present for myself this coming holiday season. When I check the time, it is almost midnight now CET time. Time to do some blog updates!
View outside of the window. This is the roof of the patio/garage filled with snow.
It seems that fall season is over now and winter is coming so soon! In fact, when I woke-up this morning and had a peeped outside the window , I found out that it was snowing. The roof of the patioe/garage is slowly filled with snow. Indeed winter is inevitable and I am glad that I am ready for the season.
Here are the reasons why:
Warm Home During Cold Winter Season
The cozy home is warm during this cold season of the year. It is because the heater is in full function since last month. It is running the whole day and it is only turn-off when it needs to be cleaned. There are actually two kinds of heaters in the house. We seldom use the electric heaters because it is expensive but the pellet oven is the one that is turn-on 24 hours a day. I share in this post how we save money every year using this kind of heating device. The electric heaters are only turned on when it is really cold inside the house. Thank God for giving us a warm abode. Meredith roofing suggests that a long term solution that will lower your energy bills is replacing the insulation in your roof or replacing old and outdated windows. You’d be surprised how much colder a house is when these problems arise.
Driving on winter especially when its is snowing can be very dangerous. Be sure to have winter tires on in your car. In front of me is the winter service that flows the snow to keep the road clean and passable.
Winter Tires Are On in My Car
I believed in the saying, “better be safe than sorry”. This is very important especially when driving during winter season. Putting of winter tires in your car in Germany is a must. Unless maybe you are using a four-season tires, I believed it is okey. I am no longer afraid to drive during winter season especially when I go to work everyday or go somewhere like running errands, visit a doctor, go grocery shopping and other activities that needs driving.
Winter Clothing and Other Winter Accessories are Out of the Closet Now
I already prepared the many winter clothing and accessories I have since end of September. I am trying to count the winter jackets and boots that I have and it seems that two cabinets are full of these stuffs. Wow, I have been shopping too much but an exotic lady like me needs to be kept warm during winter season in Europe. Winter accessories like caps, scarves, socks, jackets, cardigans, sweatshirts, undershirt, underpants and more, are also a myriad. I think, I don’t need new ones anymore. I hope to find time to organize all these stuffs in the cabinets and sort what I really need.
Enough Food and Water Supplies
Believe it or not, but when a hard winter will really break-in, I believed I can survive for a week or two because there are enough supplies of food and water at home. We never know, so it is better to be ready at all times during this season.
Indeed, I am ready for winter. I don’t need to worry when this cold season really strike so hard. I hope not. Keep warm folks and take care especially when driving. Cheers!
Until then, Ruby.
