5 Reasons To Visit Greece
Greece is a fascinating country with its mix of modern and traditional cultures, its history, and its glorious weather. There are dozens of reasons to visit this gorgeous place, and we’ve put together just a few of them to entice you to book your plane tickets right now – have fun!
The Food
Trying new foods in different counties is part of the joy of traveling. You can try some things that you’ll never get to taste at home, and you’ll get to see how they really should be cooked. Greece has a huge variety of delicious fresh foods that will be a vegetarian’s dream and a meat eater’s delight – there is enough of both to go round. Greek food consists of a lot of seafood, beans, potatoes, vegetables, fruit, and pork, lamb, and goat. There are also lots of different cheeses and some wonderful wines to go with it all. When you visit the small villages that are abundant in Greece, you’ll also find a lot of fresh produce stalls where you can try all sorts of new flavors.
The Beaches
In all of Europe, Greek beaches are found consistently in the top 10. There are lots of different islands that make up the bulk of Greece, as well as the mainland, so there are plenty of beaches to choose from too. If you like sand, you can find sandy beaches. Pebbles, there are many of those too. There are even beaches simply covered in shells. If possible, ask a local what their favorite beach is because they’ll know which ones are less crowded and more authentic.
The History
Greece has a rich and diverse history that stretches back millennia. There are buildings to visit, stories about gods and goddesses to hear about (Aphrodite is a particularly interesting one to learn more about; check out fact sd for more information), artifacts to see in a plethora of museums and much more. This is the country in which the Olympic Games originated, and where many of our traditions and ideas come from – it’s the home of democracy, for example.
The Nightlife
If you like to go out at night and have fun, then Greece is the place to do it. For those who love nightclubs and partying, there are many different places to choose from. If that’s not your scene, you can visit a theatre or concert hall, or go to a lovely, intimate restaurant. Perhaps you can listen to live music as you sip cocktails in a bar filled with locals. It’s your choice, and that’s one of the truly wonderful things about Greece.
The Scenery
Greece has some of the most beautiful scenery in the world. Olive groves and mountain ranges, pretty white cottages tucked into the hillside, and of course those stunning beaches and the crystal blue sea. Artists, designers, photographers, writers, and dreamers come to Greece just to see it all and go back home truly inspired. Travelers and holidaymakers can enjoy it all just as much.
